Marie Herrmann

Marie Lillian Herrmann, 80, of 1 Berkshire Square, formerly of Plunkett Lane, died Tuesday morning at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided since March 22. Born in Adams on Oct. 3, 1921, daughter of Julius and Mary Mayotte Herrmann, she attended local schools and graduated in 1939 from the former Adams High School. Ms. Herrmann was employed in the accounting department of the former Pfizer Corp., now Specialty Minerals Inc., retiring in 1986. Prior to that, she had been employed in the Adams office of New England Telephone Co. She was a communicant of Notre Dame-St. Thomas' Parish and a member of its choir. She was a member of the Quality Club, Ladies of St. Anne, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, of which she was an officer. She also was a member of the Greylock Bowling League in North Adams. She leaves nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Franklin A. Herrmann, Julius A. Herrmann, Ernest F. Herrmann, Robert Herrmann and Vincent Herrmann, and two sisters, Florence Horner and Sister Mary Robertine of the Sisters of Providence. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 2, at 2 in Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church, Adams. The liturgy will be preceded by a prayer service at 1:20 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, where the family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7. Burial will be in the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery.
