Carolyn Lowe

Carolyn Lowe, 94, of Train Hill Road, Interlaken, died Monday at Berkshire Place in Pittsfield, where she resided since 1997. Born in Housatonic on Oct. 8, 1907, daughter of Dr. Harry Luchsinger and Antoinette Wurtzbach Luchsinger, she attended local schools and graduated from the former Searles High School. She also attended Russell Sage College and Beaver College in Pennsylvania, where she studied home economics. Mrs. Lowe was an active member of the former Congregational Church of Interlaken, where she served as a trustee for many years. She was an avid collector of antiques and enjoyed collecting bottles. She was a member of the Berkshire Antique Bottle Association. Her husband, Charles B. Lowe, whom she married Oct. 4, 1943, died Dec. 18, 1977. She leaves a daughter, Carol A. Sanderson of Interlaken; two grandchildren, and her longtime friend and companion, Priscilla Lockenwitz of West Stockbridge. A memorial service for the late Carolyn Lowe will be held on Sunday, April 7, at 2:30 at the Stockbridge Congregational Church, with the Rev. Allen M. Comstock. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
