Eloise M. Bertoli

Eloise May Bertoli, 86, of 620 Laurel St., former resident of Cheshire, died Wednesday morning at the Laurel Lake Center for Health and Rehabilitation. Born in North Adams on June 25, 1915, daughter of Harry and Georgia Horrocks O'Malley, she was a 1934 graduate of Drury High School. She was employed at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for several years until 1960. She was then employed as a home health aide for several families in Cheshire. While in Cheshire, Mrs. Bertoli was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church and sang in its choir. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing tennis, singing and bowling. Her husband, George Bertoli, whom she married in 1960, died in 1996. He was the owner of the former Bertoli Oil Co. in North Adams. She leaves two daughters, Roberta Cohen of Pittsfield and Marilyn O'Brien of Holyoke; two sons, George Bertoli of Allendale, Fla., and John Bertoli of Hudson, Fla.; a sister, Edna Wordell of Somerset; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother and four sisters: William O'Malley, Helen Anderson, Doris O'Brien, Mildred Northup and Greta McConnell. Services will take place Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 8 at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Funeral Home, West Chapels. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home.
