Alberta A. Doyle

Alberta A. Doyle, 85, formerly of Forest Hill Drive, Williamsville, N.Y., died Tuesday at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, where she had resided since March 2000. Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada, on March 22, 1917, she was the daughter of Hugh and Edith Livingstone MacDonald. A homemaker, she was a member of The Chapel of Williamsville, N.Y., and a former member of Morningside Baptist Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed knitting, bowing, crewel embroidery and crossword puzzles. Her husband, Horace I. Doyle, whom she married Dec. 26, 1941, died Nov. 25, 1978. She leaves two daughters, Janice Doyle Fredenburg and Kathleen Doyle, both of Pittsfield; a son, Robert D. Doyle of Tonawanda, N.Y.; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Esther V. Jarl, who died in February 1999. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, April 11, at 1 p.m. at Highland Memorial Park Chapel in Johnston, R.I., with the Rev. Kevin Lowe officiating. Burial will follow. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Doyle may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to The Chapel, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
