Francine Marie (Reynolds) Wilk

Mrs. Francine Marie (Reynolds) Wilk, 54, OF 173 East Rd.. .Adams, wife of former Selectman Matthew J. Wilk serving from 1986 -’95, died Thursday morning, February 1, 2001, at her residence after a long struggle with cancer. She was born in North Adams on October 8, 1946, daughter of the late Arthur Reynolds & Helen (Chonard) Reynolds. The family relocated to Bennington, VT in her childhood and she attended Bennington Schools. Later relocating to Adams where she was a graduate of the former Adams Memorial High School and a member of its’ Class of ‘64. Mrs. Wilk was the owner - operator of the former Idyll Gift Shoppe located on Park St. in Adams. She left in ‘86 to bring up her family and later on, became a member of the Support Service Staff of the Berkshire County’s District Attorneys office out of Pittsfield in 1995. A member of Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs/ St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, she was active in its’ Parish activities and was Chairwoman of the Parish Annual Bazaars‘ Country Kitchen Table. A political activist, she was a member of the Adams Town Democratic Committee and was a central figure in the election campaigns of a multitude of Democratic candidates for Local, State & National Office. Besides her husband of 34 years, Matthew J. Wilk, with whom she exchanged marriage vows on October 8, 1966, she is survived by a son. Jonathon J. Wilk of Granbv , MA, a daughter, Mrs. David (Amy M.) Macca ofTarrytown, NY; a grandson, David L. Macca; a brother, Gregory Reynolds of San Diego, CA and nieces & nephews. A prayer service for Francine M. Wilk will be held Saturday morning at 9:20 in the McBride Funeral Home, 6 Libertv St.. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 10 am. Saturday, February 2nd. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery & calling hours at the McBride Funeral Home, will be Friday from 4- 8 PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in her memory to the VNA Hospice Fund at Curran HiWay, North Adams, MA 01247.
