Lloyd B. Phillips

Lloyd B. "Ozzie" Phillips, 81, of Holly Hill, Fla., formerly of Westminster Street, died Thursday at home. Born in Colton, N.Y., on Aug. 28, 1919, son of George J. and Doris Brewer Phillips, he attended schools in Potsdam, N.Y., including Potsdam High School. He had resided in Pittsfield most of his life. Mr. Phillips was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe under Gen. George Patton and under Gen. Mark Clark in North Africa and Italy. Mr. Phillips was employed in the construction field for many years by various companies in the Pittsfield area. He retired to Florida in the early 1990s. He attended St. Stephen's Church and was a life member of the Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Fraternity of Eagles in Florida. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of NASCAR racing. He leaves a brother, Robert B. Phillips of Lee, and two sisters, Joanne Regan of Traveres, Fla., and Judy Tobler of Pittsfield. Lloyd B. Phillips is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the convenience of the family. ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox is in charge of arrangements.
