Dorothy Estes, 88, of 148 Maple Ave. died April 19 at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Windsor on Dec. 10, 1913, daughter of Harry and Bessie Thompson Drew, she graduated from the former Dalton High School. She had resided in Pittsfield until moving to Great Barrington in 1995. Mrs. Estes was employed as a salesclerk at the former England Brothers department store and later worked at the former Sheaffer Eaton Textron in the cards division. She retired in 1981. She was a member of South Congregational Church. Her husband, Lincoln Estes, whom she married April 2, 1938, died in 1953. She leaves a sister, Jessie Drew McCormick of Stockbridge. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow, May 1, at 11 at BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton, by the Rev. Joel Huntington. Burial will be in Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale. Calling hours at the funeral home will Wednesday from 10 until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Great Barrington Rehab and Nursing Center Activities Fund, 148 Maple Ave., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
