Charles A. Comer

Charles A. Comer, 52, of 8 Rand St., Apt. 25, died Monday at home after a long illness. Born in Shellman, Ga., on Dec. 24, 1949, son of Earl Comer and Curry Logue Comer, he attended schools in Georgia and in Springfield, where he moved at the age of 9. Mr. Comer was employed as a mechanic for a bus company in Longmeadow before moving to North Adams, where he was employed at Coury's Used Auto Parts Co. on Curran Highway. He was most recently employed by Steinerfilm Co. in Williamstown for more than 10 years, retiring in 1998. He leaves three sons, Edward Sargent of Adams, and Sean Comer and Keith Comer, both of Adams; a sister, Wynelle Lincoln of Springfield; three brothers, Marvin Logue of the state of Florida, and Jack Jackson and Robert "Teddy" Comer, both of Springfield, and two grandchildren. Graveside services will take place Monday at 11 a.m. at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. There are no calling hours. The FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, are in charge of arrangements.
