Stella K. Wilk

Stella K. Wilk, 77, of 83 Harvard St. died Monday at home. Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 6, 1924, daughter of Lawrence and Mary Zaik Malcik, she was a 1942 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She was employed by GE until 1945. She then worked for the former J.J. Newberry store as a sales clerk and later as a store representative in establishing new branches, until 1970. She also worked for the Marian Fathers in Stockbridge in the gift shop and had various other duties. She later worked at Berkshire Medical Center, retiring in 1985. Mrs. Wilk was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed traveling abroad. Her husband, Thaddeus J. Wilk, whom she married June 26, 1943, in Holy Family Church, died Nov. 25, 1978. She leaves two daughters, Diane Boyington and Donna M. Hill, both of Pittsfield; two sons, Thaddeus F. Wilk and Francis Wilk, both of Pittsfield; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Magdalenski, who died March 18, 1994. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 30, at 8:15 from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Holy Family Church, celebrated by the Rev. Eugene A. Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday, May 29, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
