Mildred Sprowson, 82

ADAMS, Mass. - Mildred H. Sprowson, 82, of 27 Overlook Terrace died Monday morning, July 1, 2002, at home. Born in Adams on Feb. 12, 1920, daughter of William A. and Dora Noel Johnson, she attended local schools. Mrs. Sprowson was a cashier at the former Adams Super Market, now Big Y Supermarket, for 20 years, retiring in 1982. She also had been employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates and the former Brightwater Paper Co., and at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for several years. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas. A golfer, she was a member of Forest Park Country Club for 30 years and, in her younger years, was a gymnast at Turn Hall. She and her husband, William T. Sprowson, were married June 15, 1950. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Jo Ann Martin of Venice, Fla.; a sister, Florence Millette of Adams; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilfred Johnson. FUNERAL NOTICE - The funeral will be Wednesday, July 3, at 7:30 a.m. from Trottier-Pringle Funeral Home, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 8:30 at Notre Dame Church in Adams celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, July 2, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Berkshire through the funeral home.
