Catheryn A.'Kay' Staebler Strommer Fisher

Catheryn A.'Kay' Staebler Strommer Fisher,83, of 151 Christian Hill Road Great Barrington formerly of Rockford, Illinois died Sunday at Fairview Hospital. She was born February 12, 1918 the daughter of the late John and Mary Holdgrafer Staebler in Haverhill,Iowa. She did volunteer work in Hiqhview Retirement Home in Rockford, Illinois and also cared for the elderly in their homes. She was a member of St.James Catholic Church and a member of their altar and Rosary Guild.She worked as a waitress for Moose Club for 20 years and a life member of Chapter 619. She held every office in the Auxillary and in 1991 became a 50 year member. She was also a volunteer with the Republican Party. She was the widow of H.Jerome Strommer who she married in 1937 and who died in 1956 and William R. Fisher whom she married in 1980 and who died in 1986.She is survived by 1 son Stephen Strommer of Great Barrington, 2 step sons Robert Strommer of San Luis Obispo and Roger Fisher of Rockford Illinois,2 brothers Daniel and David Staebler of Rantoul, Illnois, l sister Addie 'Ang' Zanocco of Rockford,Illinois,3 grandchildren.10 step grandchildren,2 great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.She was also predeceased by a son Ronald Strommer,a step son Robert Fisher,2 Brothers Elmer and Everett and 1 sister Wilma Wickman. The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Catheryn Staebler Strommer Fisher will be in St. James Catholic Church at a later time. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours at the HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South St. Great Barrington 01230. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St.Peter’s Church Ramp Fund.
