Mabel L. Mann

Mabel L. Mann, 94, of 67 Otis Ave. died Tuesday at home. Born in North Abington on March 14, 1906, daughter of Arthur G. and Emma Farr Stevens, she attended schools in Easthampton. A homemaker, Mrs. Mann had been employed by General Electric Co., Bell Shop, S&J Variety in Pittsfield and the Hampden Mill in Easthampton. She was a member of St. Martin's Church and a member of its Ladies Group. Her husband, Arthur E. Mann Sr., whom she married Aug. 4, 1930, died Sept. 15, 1981. She leaves two daughters, Lois Bessette and Carol May Gendreau, both of Dalton; 10 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. A son, Arthur E. Mann Jr., died in 1969. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by services at 10 a.m. at St. Martin's Church in Pittsfield with the Rev. Mary Schreiber, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Street Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Martin's Church or to Hospice of Berkshire County in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. Mrs. Mann will be lovingly missed by her 10 grandchildren, Mark, Michele, Michael and Melody Bessette, Stephen, Debby and Ross Mann, Suzi Patrick, Kelly May Groat and Eric May; a son-in-law, Norman Bessette, and a daughter-in-law, Gina Loe.
