Gloria A. Barresi

Gloria A. Barresi, 73, of 48 Briggs Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Chicago on April 20, 1927, daughter of Giuseppe and Anna Lupo Caruso, she attended schools there. She moved to this area after her marriage to Samuel A. Barresi, whom she married April 6, 1946, in Mount Carmel Church. Mrs. Barresi was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and enjoyed watching old movies and listening to old-time music. She also enjoyed going to bingo and dining out with family and friends. Her husband died March 17, 1988. She leaves a son, Michael J. Barresi of Pittsfield; a brother, Phillip J. Caruso of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and two sisters, Mary Rizzo of Racine, Wis., and Carmen R. Skalicky of Delevan, Wis. She was predeceased by a son, Anthony P. Barresi, who died May 29, 2000. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday from 4 to 7. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:15 from the funeral home, followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Charles' Church, with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Jimmy Fund in care of the funeral home.
