Roma L. Grace

Roma L. Grace, 88, formerly of 34 Plunkett St., died Monday at Providence Care Center in Lenox, where she had been a patient since last year. Born in Adams on Oct. 16, 1912, daughter of Zenophille and Odile Clermont Bourdon, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Grace was first employed by the various Adams woolen mills. She moved to Pittsfield as a young woman and was employed by Rice's Silk Mill, where she worked for 37 years. She retired in 1975 after 38 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed traveling with the senior citizens group to Maine and the Carolinas after her retirement. She enjoyed needlepoint and embroidery. Her husband of 42 years, John H. Grace, died May 3, 1991. She leaves three nephews, Donald J. Spiewak and Leonard R. Spiewak, both of Pittsfield, and Peter R. Spiewak of Port Orange, Fla., and a niece, Carolyn O. Spiewak of Pittsfield. Calling hours at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home, followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in the Cheshire Cemetery in the spring. If friends desire, memorial donations would be made to the St. Mary's Church Renovation Fund in care of the funeral home.
