Rosa Carnevale

Rosa V. Carnevale, 90, of 656 McNerny Road, formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at the home of her son, Ferdinando Carnevale of 656 McNerny Road. Born in Cassino, Italy, on Jan. 31, 1911, daughter of Ferdinando and Clorinda Finelli Valente, she attended schools in Italy and came to the United States in 1948. A homemaker, Mrs. Carnevale was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and Italian cooking. She was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. Her husband, Bernardo B. Carnevale, whom she married Oct. 30, 1947, in Rome, died March 4, 1971. Besides her son, she leaves two daughters, Clorinda Grady of Pittsfield and Anna Maria Murray of Enfield, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Alice Massimiano of Pittsfield; two sisters, Raffaela Valente and Concetta Valente, both of Rome; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place Friday, March 2, at 9:15 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Church Centennial Memorial Organ Fund or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
