Evelyn J. Williams, 81, of 360 West Housatonic St. died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 5, 1919, daughter of Samuel and Edna Springstead Williams, she attended local schools. Mrs. Williams was employed as a bookkeeper at England Brothers Department Store for 15 years and later at the Rogers Jewelry Store for 15 years. She retired in 1964. She attended First United Methodist Church. She leaves three nieces and two nephews. A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Pittsfield Cemetery, with the Rev. Roger A. Davis officiating. Anyone wishing to attend the service is asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 1:45 p.m. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, which is in charge of arrangements. Among the survivors are three nieces, Ruth E. McCormick of Pittsfield, Evelyn Torrey of Peru and Carol Fabulich of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two nephews, Ernest Beron of Shaftsbury, Vt., and Thomas Brooks of Daytona, Fla.; 13 grandnieces, and eight grandnephews.
