Violet Delisle-Romeo

Violet Delisle-Romeo, 93, of 35 Willow Dell died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on April 28, 1907, daughter of Albert and Emma Bullett Bressette, she graduated from Drury High School. In her younger years, she was employed at the former Union Street Cotton Mills in North Adams. She was a homemaker most of her life. Mrs. Delisle-Romeo was a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She was a member of the former Lafayette Club and Jollee Circle Club in North Adams. She loved to cook and was an avid Whist card player. Her first husband, Armand A. Delisle, whom she married June 4, 1928, in Notre Dame Church, died Jan. 11, 1947. Her second husband, Anthony Romeo, predeceased her. She leaves a daughter, Mary V. "Cookie" Lewis of North Adams; two sons, Robert A. Delisle and William D. Delisle, both of North Adams; a stepson, Anthony Romeo of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph D. Delisle, who died Sept. 7, 1988, and a stepson, Ralph Romeo. Funeral services for will take place Friday at 8 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Notre Dame Church. Burial will take place in the spring in Blackinton Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals are Thursday from 4 to 8. Donations are suggested to the VNA and Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. Mrs. Delisle-Romeo was predeceased by seven brothers, Eugene Bressette, David Bressette, Anthony Bressette, William Bressette, Frederick Bressette, Simon Bressette and John "Buster" Bressette; four sisters, Louise Anderson, Laura Manson, Frances Belanger and Grace Sturtevant; and two grandchildren, William Delisle and Mary Delisle.
