Dan Martin Berger

Dan Martin Berger, 46, of Silver Street died Jan. 12 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield following a long illness. Born April 6, 1956, in Detroit, the son of Bertha "Nikki" Nisenbaum Berger Van Dine and the late Sam Berger, he grew up in Huntington Woods, Mich., and graduated from Dondere High School in Royal Oak, Mich., where he played the drums in the band and orchestra. He was a fan of Pink Floyd and enjoyed sports, especially football, and was a fan of the University of Michigan Wolverines. In 1981, he moved to Hudson, N.Y., to live at Triform, an organic farm, where he worked in the dairy and growing produce. He moved to Great Barrington in 1994. He attended Calvary Christian Chapel. He leaves his mother, of Huntington Woods; his companion and caregiver, Sylvie Busser, and his sister, Juliet Berger Huizenga of Ann Arbor, Mich. FUNERAL NOTICE -- He also leaves a nephew and niece and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial service for Dan Martin Berger will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Christian Chapel through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
