Louise DeGesero

Louise M. DeGesero, 77, of 60 Cheshire Road died Wednesday evening at home. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Jan. 23, 1924, daughter of Thomas J. and Margaret Coughlin Charles, she attended schools there and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. While in Schenectady, she was employed as a salesperson at Wallace & Co. for six years. She moved to Pittsfield in 1958. Mrs. DeGesero was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of St. Jude's National Shrine and was a sponsor of the Maryknoll and Edmundite missions. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Her husband, Ribel A. "Ribs" DeGesero, whom she married May 26, 1950, died July 19, 1985. She leaves a daughter, Michele DeGesero Haryanto of Pittsfield, with whom she lived, and a grandson. She is survived by her son-in-law, Budi Haryanto, and her grandson, Joseph Haryanto. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, March 24, at 11 at St. Francis' Church with the Rev. Paul Bombardier officiating. There will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the National Shrine of St. Jude or Maryknoll in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
