Gilbert A. Lefebvre

Gilbert A. Lefebvre, 76, of 254 State Road, died Wednesday afternoon at the North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on Feb. 28, 1926, son of Emil and Ida Ryan Lefebvre, he attended Adams schools. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Lefebvre worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams for over 20 years. He was custodian of the Notre Dame church in Adams from 1965 to 1970. While in Adams he was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas. After moving to North Adams in 1971, he was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. He leaves his wife, the former Florence T. Roberts, whom he married Nov. 23, 1945. He also leaves two sons, Thomas G. Lefebvre of Tavaris, Fla., and Robert E. Lefebvre of Readsboro, Vt.; one daughter, Donna Marie Drozdowski of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two sisters, Ida LaChance of Lanesboro, and Mae DeGrenier of Cheshire; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Gilbert A. Lefebvre will take place Saturday at 9 from the TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 8. Mr. Lefebvre was predeceased by five brothers, Arthur Lefebvre, Leo Lefebvre, William Lefebvre, Joseph Lefebvre and Philip Lefebvre.
