Imelda "Mel" Vincelette

Imelda "Mel" Vincelette, 86, of Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown died Wednesday evening. She was a former resident of Adams. Born in Adams on Aug. 17, 1916, daughter of Joseph and Evelina Filion Jette, she attended Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame Parochial School. She worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. for several years. She then was secretary for the Adams Selectmen for several years, and then secretary for the Adams Cemetery Department for many years, retiring in 1968. Mrs. Vincelette was a member of the Cheshire Senior Citizens and the former Cartier Club in Adams. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas, where she was a member of the parish choir and the Ladies of St. Anne. She enjoyed painting, reading and writing poetry. Her husband, Raymond Vincelette, whom she married June 17, 1939, died June 3, 1997. She leaves three sons, Alan Vincelette, David Vincelette and Bruce Vincelette, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Imelda "Mel" Vincelette will take place Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 from the TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service. Mrs. Vincelette also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Jette, Felix Jette and Alfred Jette, and three sisters, Rita Kregler, Gertrude James and Lydia Sherman.
