Delima Helen (La Combe) Vareschi

Mrs. Delima Helen (La Combe) Vareschi, 79, of 368 Union St., North Adams, MA, died Thursday March 8, 200l at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York where she was admitted on Feb. 26th. She was born in North Adams, MA on March 27, 1920, a daughter of the late Lador A. LaCombe and Gladys (Richmond) LaCombe. She attended schools in North Adams and graduated from the Drury High School with the class of 1939. Mrs. Vareschi was first employed by the former Florini’s Italian Gardens Restaurant in North Adams. She later worked at the former JJ Newberry Store for six years. She also worked at the former Wall Streeter Shoe Co and the Gale Shoe Co. During World War II, she worked at the General Electric Co. in Pittsfield, MA. Later she worked at the Cornish Wire Co. in Williamstown. She was last employed by the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 16 years until she retired in 1985. Mrs. Vareschi was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Adams. She was a member of the Sprague Retirees and the AARP. She enjoyed bird watching. Survivors include her husband, Victor B. Vareschi whom she married on July 27, 1946 in St. Anthony of Padua Church in North Adams. 1 Son and daughter in law- Victor Norman “Skip” Vareschi and Kathy Vareschi of North Adams 4 Grandchildren- Lee Vareschi of North Adams Katie Trala of New Lebanon, NY Mandy Therrien of North Adams Krystal Vareschi of North Adams 1 Stepgrandaughter- Tiffany Osmin of Hornell, NY 3 Greatgrandchildren- Teia Trala and Brace Trala of New Lebanon,NY; and Tyler Jeanne Vareschi of North Adams A sister, Marie Jane Sacco died Jan. 9, 1988 and a Step Brother, Robert Templeton is deceased. Funeral services will take place Monday morning at 9:30 AM at Flynn& Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals CENTRAL CHAPELS 74 Marshall St. North Adams followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. O’Hear, pastor. Burial, will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at Flynn&Dagnoli-MontagnaHome for Funerals CENTRAL CHAPELS are Sunday from 4-7 PM . Memorial donations may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
