Gerson George Gordon

Gerson George Gordon, 84, of Muirfield Drive died Sunday afternoon at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center. Born in Wurtenberg, Germany, on March 23, 1918, son of Sydney and RoseGordon, he came to the United States at the age of 8. He attended Plainfield, N.J., schools and was a 1936 graduate of Plainfield High School. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration in 1940 from the University of Pennsylvania. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Gordon owned and operated a houseware business, Universal Millwork Inc., in Floral Park, Long Island, N.Y. He retired in 1994. He enjoyed tennis and golf and traveling extensively throughout the world. He and his wife, the former Muriel "Mike" Danish, whom he married Oct. 4, 1942, made their home in Hewlett Harbor, Long Island, and spent their weekends in Lenox since 1989. They moved here permanently in 1994. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert D. Gordon of Atlanta; two brothers, Carl Gordon and Steven Gordon, both ofNew Jersey, and two grandchildren. A daughter, Glenn Gordon, died in 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Gerson George Gordon is also survived by his two grandchildren, David and Daniel Gordon, and two nephews, Brian and Hank Gordon. A graveside funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at Westchester Hills Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. There will be no calling hours. ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox is in charge of arrangements.
