Rena R. Sobczyk, 87

CHESHIRE, Mass. — Rena Rachael Sobczyk, 87, of 43 Dean St., died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at home. Born in Adams on July 2, 1915, daughter of Alfred and Josephine Bechard Champney, she attended schools in Adams. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Sobczyk was employed at one time serving lunches in different schools of the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Franklin Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening. She and her husband, John Sobczyk, celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary Jan. 23. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Lynn C. Krayewsky and her husband, Michael, of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a brother, Clifford Champney of North Adams, and a granddaughter, Jill Krayewsky. She was predeceased by six sisters, Alma Gamari, Leona Gagnon, Dora Roulier, Loretta Crews, Orella Kuzia and Edna Burro; and two brothers, Lloyd and Bernard Champney. FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Mrs. Sobczyk will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at First Baptist Church by the Revs. Linda Shaw and William D. Furey. Burial will take place in the spring in Cheshire Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME will be Tuesday from 5 to 8. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department in care of the funeral home, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01226.
