Mildred Irene Cellana

Mildred Irene Cellana, 86, of 108 Furnace St. died Saturday at North Adams Commons. Born in North Adams on Nov. 27, 1916, daughter of Robert P. and Elizabeth Carlow Dach, she attended city schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1935. Mrs. Cellana was employed in the Main Street office of Massachusetts Electric Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1979. She was first employed by the former J.J. Newberry Store. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and enjoyed reading. Her husband, Robert A. Cellana, whom she married May 4, 1946, died Sept. 8, 1998. She leaves two sons, Marc A. Cellana of Pittsfield and Jeffrey R. Cellana of North Adams, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mildred Irene Dach Cellana will take place at a time to be announced. Burial will be in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Marc A. Cellana and his wife, Susan Rovins, and North Adams firefighter Jeffrey R. Cellana and his wife, Susan Cellana, and four grandchildren, Emily Cellana, Arlen Cellana, Alicia Cellana and Andrew Cellana. Two sisters are deceased, Louise Meaney and her twin, Elenor Jobert.
