Dorothy M. Hunter, 84, of Albany, died Thursday at Albany (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital. She was the mother of the Rev. Joseph Forte, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Great Barrington. Born in Eufaula, Ala., on Aug. 18, 1918, daughter of Lou Esther Franklin and Sir Latamore, she attended schools there. She moved to Albany in 1954. She was employed as a nurse at Albany Medical Center, retiring in the late 1970s. She enjoyed being a foster grandmother to many children until her health began to fail over the last few months. Her husband, Daniel Hunter, died in 1975. Besides her son, she leaves a daughter, Bernadette Young of Albany; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Dorothy M. Hunter will be Wednesday, March 5, at 1 at Mount Olive Baptist Church on North Pearl St., Albany, N.Y. Burial will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 until the time of the service. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Vera Forte of Great Barrington, and son-in-law, Eddie Young of Albany, and a host of other relatives and friends.
