Robert T. Hill

Robert T. Hill, 88, of Hewins Street, Ashley Falls, died yesterday morning at Great Barrington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Starksboro, Vt., on Nov. 20, 1914, son of Morton and Ethel Taft Hill, he was educated in schools there. He moved to Lee in 1941. Mr. Hill worked for various cattle farms until 1962, when he became employed with Malnati's Farm, retiring in 1987. He had also worked for the Lee Lime Quarry until 1942. His first wife, the former Veda M. Bush, whom he married in 1939, died in 1960. His wife, the former Ann Roberts, died in 1967. He leaves two sons, David M. Hill of Buena Vista, Va., and Richard E. Hill of Sheffield; three daughters, Lanesta G. Jaquins of Fall River, Aleta M. Twing of Mill River and Patricia A. Hill of Ashley Falls; a brother, Wallace Hill of New Smyrna, Fla.; four sisters, Alice Hasting of Corinth, Vt., Lois Rivit of Vergennes, Vt., Esther Trudeau of Bristol, Vt., and Winona Mitchell of South Burlington, Vt.; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons, Roger Hill, who died in 1997, and Kenneth and Rupert Hill, who both died in 1948. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert T. Hill, 88, who died March 15, 2003, will be Tuesday at 11 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 9 until the time of the funeral. He also was predeceased by two great-grandchildren.
