Lena Angelina Puppolo, 89, of 80 Autumn Drive died yesterday morning at the home of her son, John Michael Puppolo Jr., of Kingston, N.Y., after a short illness. Born in North Adams on Aug. 17, 1913, daughter of Giovanni and Ottavio Barzotti DelDebbio, she was a 1931 graduate of Drury High School. Mrs. Puppolo was employed as a pentagrapher until her marriage in 1938. She had also resided in Concord, N.H., and in Milan, Italy. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a longtime member of its Rosary Society and the bazaar committee. She was also a member of the North Adams Garden and North Adams Country clubs and Lodge 704 Sons of Italy. She was a former member of the Concord (N.H.) Country Club. Her husband, John Michael Puppolo, whom she married Sept. 24, 1938, died Oct. 14, 2000. Besides her son, she leaves two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Lena DelDebbio Puppolo will take place Thursday, March 20, at 9:30 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 611 State Road, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will be Southview Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Anthony's Church through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. Survivors include her son and his wife, John Michael Puppolo Jr. and Jody Harvey Puppolo; two grandchildren, Sabrina Puppolo and John Michael Puppolo III; four great-grandchildren, John Michael Puppolo IV, Sierra Jade Puppolo, Nicole Corinne Jordal and Kristopher Jordal, all of Kingston; also nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest H. DelDebbio and Joseph DelDebbio.
