Marguerite J. Carosso

Marguerite J. Carosso, 93, of 1 Gaslight Drive, Yarmouthport, formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at home. Born in Hericourt, France, on June 23, 1909, daughter of Charles and Helen Aubert Gable, she emigrated to the United States as a child and attended Pittsfield schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Carosso had been employed by several woolen mills in Pittsfield and Dalton. She moved to Yarmouthport in 1996. In Pittsfield, she was a communicant of All Souls’ Church. In Yarmouthport, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Chapel. Her husband, Aurelio Charles Carosso, died Jan. 9, 1991. She leaves her daughter-in-law, Ann Carosso, with whom she resided, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A son, Charles A. Carosso, died in 1997, and a daughter, Norma M. Fitzpatrick, died in 1986. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Marguerite J. Gable Carosso, who died Monday, May 19, 2003, will be Friday, May 23, at 8 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at All Souls’ Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 22, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to All Souls’ Church, 51 Pembroke Ave., or in care of the funeral home. Dear mother-in-law of Ann Carosso and Robert C. Fitzpatrick. Loving grandmother of Robert S. Fitzpatrick, Brian C. Fitzpatrick, Richard C. Carosso, Caroline L. Grisp and Alicia C. McCarthy, and loving great-grandmother of Sean Fitzpatrick, Casey Fitzpatrick, Caitlin McCarthy and Dominic Carosso. Predeceased by son Charles A. Carosso, daughter Norma M. Fitzpatrick, brother Charles Gable.
