Carmelina M. Cirillo

Carmelina M. Cirillo, 75, of 176 Columbus Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Chester, Pa., on June 20, 1927, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Cardillo Catinella, she came to Pittsfield as a child and attended local schools. A home day-care provider, she retired in 1985. She also briefly worked at GE and as a teacher’s aide for the Head Start program. Mrs. Cirillo was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church. She enjoyed cooking, and sang in several local churches. Her husband, Leonino Cirillo, whom she married July 4, 1949, died Sept. 4, 1993. She leaves a son, Donald L. Cirillo of Pittsfield; a brother, Benjamin V. Catinella of Pittsfield; and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Carmelina M. Cirillo, 75, died Monday, May 19, 2003. Funeral services will take place Thursday, May 22, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. Beloved mother of Dominic L. Cirillo and his wife, Janice. Loving grandmother of Ryan J. Cirillo and Kelly M. Cirillo. Dear sister of Benjamin V. Catinella. Other survivors include nieces, nephews, a great-niece, a great-nephew and cousins. She had great pride in her grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin Catinella, in 1937.
