Lorraine M. Siok

Lorraine M. Siok, 80, of 117 Warner Road, Norwich, N.Y., formerly of North Plain Road, Housatonic, died Sunday at home. Born in Stuyvesant Falls, N.Y., on Nov. 5, 1922, daughter of Lawrence and Alda Miller Eisner, she attended Hudson schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. She moved to Housatonic in 1941 and to Norwich in 1981 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Lynne Siok. Mrs. Siok was employed as an assembler for Becton Dickinson & Co. in Canaan, Conn., retiring in 1981. She was a communicant of St. Bartholomew’s Church in Norwich and a former communicant and Rosary Sodality member of All Saints’ Church in Housatonic. She enjoyed traveling. Her husband, Chester S. Siok, whom she married Oct. 12, 1941, in St. Mary’s Church in Hudson, died Oct. 26, 1980. Besides her son, she leaves two daughters, Joan Larkin Jahr of Wenatchee, Wash., and Maureen Ryan of Norcross, Ga.; two brothers, Howard Eisner of Valatie, N.Y., and Edward Eisner of Wading River, N.Y.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Lorraine M. Siok, who died Aug. 3, 2003, will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at 9 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in All Saints’ Church by the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the All Saints’ Building Fund or to Hospice of Chenango County, in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves her sons-in-law, Jim Jahr and Tim Ryan; grandchildren Edward and Joseph Larkin, Jill and Kara Siok, Michael and Matthew Ryan, and her canine companions, Co-Co and Jazz.
