Nancy Christine Brown

Nancy Christine Brown, 79, of 22 South Road died Tuesday at the Calvin Coolidge Nursing Home in Northampton, following a short illness. Born in Castlerea, Ireland, on Jan. 6, 1924, daughter of John and Bridget Horan Coyne, she attended schools there. She emigrated to the United States in 1940 and settled in Lynn. Following her marriage, she moved to Searsburg, Vt. A homemaker, she was employed for a short time at the former Sheraton Inn in North Adams. While in Lynn, she worked as a housekeeper for several parishes in the Lynn area. She leaves her husband, Frederick L. Brown. Besides her husband, she leaves three sons, Frederick O.J. Brown of Pittsfield, Marvin R. Brown of Glens Falls, N.Y., and Robert J. Brown of Clayton, N.C.; two daughters, Frances Davis of Lee and Nancy Mandell of Easthampton; two sisters, Alice Coyne and Geraldine Coyne of England; two brothers, Martin Christopher Coyne of Amherst, N.Y., and John James Coyne of Canada; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service to celebrate the life of Nancy Christine (Coyne) Brown will take place Saturday at 2 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, with the Rev. Eric Malachuk, pastor of the First Bible Baptist Church of North Adams, officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the First Bible Baptist Church of North Adams through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Thomas, Nancy and Elizabeth Kingston, Kelly Davis, and Robert, Scott and Crystal Brown. A brother and a sister predeceased her -- Patrick Coyne and Sarah Coyne.
