Agnes Mary Moffett

Agnes Mary Moffett, 90, of 175 Tamarack Road died Sunday morning at home. Born in North Adams on Nov. 14, 1912, daughter of Joseph and Roseanna Dupre LaBonte, she attended schools there. She moved to Pittsfield in 1930. Mrs. Moffett was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Teresa’s Church and enjoyed camping, crocheting and gardening Her husband, Cyril J. Moffett, whom she married March 1, 1930, in Pittsfield, died May 28, 1994. She leaves four sons, Raymond J. Moffett of Cheshire, Wilfred R. Moffett of Pittsfield, and William J. Moffett and Albert L. Moffett, both of Macon, N.C.; six daughters, Shirley A. Moffett, with whom she made her home, Mary J. Saldo and Linda M. Creamer, both of Pittsfield, Elaine M. Haggerty of Macon, N.C., Claire M. Placer of Wilson, N.C., and Rosemary M. Hopkins of Burlington, N.C.; a brother, Edward LaBonte of North Adams; a sister, Angelina Ross of North Adams; 25 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Janet M. Halley, died Feb. 13, 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Agnes Mary Moffett, who died Sunday, Aug. 10, was predeceased by a brother and five sisters. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 14, at 10 at St. Teresa’s Church by the Rev. Joseph Lachowski. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
