Gertrude Ann Beaupre

Gertrude Ann Beaupre, 99, of 4 Columbia St. died yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital after being admitted on Monday. Born in North Adams on June 4, 1904, daughter of Frank and Matilda Barber Brown, she moved with her family to Quality Street and attended Adams schools. Mrs. Beaupre was employed as a nanny for the Pataschnick family, retiring in the early 1960s. She also worked at the former Dalton Rudnick Mill as a weaver until the 1950s. She was a member of First Methodist Church. Her husband, Adolphus Beaupre, whom she married Sept. 18, 1922, in St. Francis’ Church in North Adams, died in 1965. She leaves a son, Donald F. Beaupre of Adams; four daughters, Eleanor M. Robinson and Betty Meyer, both of Adams, Dorothy E. Smith of Trenton, N.J., and Shirley Wolfe of North Adams; 23 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Gertrude A. Beaupre is being planned and will be announced shortly. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Louison House, 395 Old Columbia St., Adams, MA 01220 or through MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements. She was predeceased by three brothers, Arthur, Norman and Hollis Brown; and two sisters, Lila Shays and Mildred Brown.
