Rita T. Dupee

Rita T. Dupee, 75, of 434 Barbour St. died yesterday at home. Born in Adams on Sept. 6, 1927, daughter of Henri and Eva Royal Dargie, she attended local schools, including the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. Dupee and her husband, Harold R. Dupee Sr., owned and operated the Willows Motel in Williamstown from 1966 to 1983. They also operated the concession stand at the Historic Valley Campground at Windsor Lake during the summer for several years. She was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She and her husband celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary June 4.They were married in Notre Dame Church in Adams. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Sharon Krzanik of Adams and Joan Fortin of North Adams; three sons, Harold R. Dupee Jr. of Cheshire, and David B. Dupee and Richard F. Dupee, both of North Adams; a sister, Dorothy Messier of Hampden; three brothers, Henry E. Dargie of Stamford, Vt., Francis L. Dargie of North Adams and Robert Dargie of Cheshire; 20 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Rita T. Dargie Dupee will be Thursday at 10:15 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will be at a later date in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Jude Children’s Hospital through the funeral home. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, George Dargie on Nov. 3, 1993, Arthur Paul “Bid” Dargie on July 25, 1999, and Doris Dargie and Bobby Dargie, both in infancy.
