Jerome Sklar, 84, of 832 Converse St., Longmeadow, a former Pittsfield resident, died yesterday at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. He was born in New York on April 12, 1919, son of Nathan and Anna Sklar. He lived in Pittsfield until 1989. In 1947, Mr. Sklar moved from New York to Springfield to work as director of manufacturing at the former Rainbow Coat Co. He was director of manufacturing at Berkshire Coat Factory until retiring and moving to Springfield in 1989. His wife, the former Rhoda Blake, died in 1989. He leaves two sons, Neil Sklar and David Sklar, both of Chicopee; a daughter, Judy Faiman of Spring Valley, N.Y., and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Jerome Sklar will be conducted today at 10:30 at City of Homes Cemetery. HAROLD R. ASCHER & SON MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements. He was the loving grandfather of Rochel Leah, Menachem Mendel, Tehilla Chana and Shmuel Tzvi. Memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Borov, 2 Parker Blvd., Munsey, NY 10952.
