Guy Christopher Weston

Guy Christopher Weston, 90, of Rosewood, 318 Onota St., Pittsfield, a former longtime resident of 190 Michaels Road, Hinsdale, died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Tyringham on June 3, 1913, son of John and Mimi Frost Weston, he moved to North Adams at the age of 6 and was a 1932 graduate of Drury High School. He was a member of the Drury Band that traveled to Washington and played for President Herbert Hoover at the White House. Mr. Weston was employed by Excelsior Printing Co. in North Adams for 33 years. Before that, he worked for Lamb Printing Co. and Eagle Printing and Binding. He also operated Westwall Press in Hinsdale for 16 years with his wife, the former Mary Alice Walsh. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and had traveled to Europe several times, and to Egypt and Israel and across the United States. His wife, whom he married Nov. 26, 1961, at St. Francis’ Church in North Adams, died Dec. 11, 1997. He leaves a nephew, Michael W. Burns of North Adams, and a niece, Colleen Ferri of North Providence, R.I. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Guy Christopher Weston will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at 11 at St. Patrick’s Church in Hinsdale by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. There will be no calling hours. Survivors also include a grandnephew, Michael Ferri of North Providence, R.I. Memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74, Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
