Hope E. Kearney

Hope E. Kearney, 48, of 1100 Mohawk Trail died Thursday morning at home. Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 27, 1955, daughter of Patrick and Joan Kinney Kearney, she graduated from Lenox Memorial High School in 1973 and from Berkshire Community College with a degree in nursing. Mrs. Kearney was employed as a nurse at the former Berkshire Nursing Home in Pittsfield from 1985 to 1989. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church. Besides her parents, she leaves a daughter, Vanessa L. Knight of Pittsfield; a sister, Heather D. Kosla of Pittsfield; two grandchildren, and three stepgrandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. Hope E. Kearney, 48, who died in North Adams on Thursday, will be Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at 10:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Mary the Morning Star Church in Pittsfield celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Brunton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Sept. 21, from 2 to 5. She was the beloved grandmother of Payton Delaney Knight and Darren Michael Carnie Knight; stepgrandmother to Adam, Sarah and Ryan Knight; aunt to Rebecca Hope Yates Kosla and Thomas Zachary Kosla; mother-in-law to Christopher Knight, and sister-in-law to David Kosla. She leaves dear friends Barbara and Richard Gore and caregivers Cristy, Joanne, Lynn, Mary, Penny, Rosemary and Val. If friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in care of the funeral home.
