Elizabeth Carmella Brown Rogers, 88, of 9 Monica Drive died Friday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 16, 1915, daughter of Vito and Elizabeth Caparrotta Ronco, she attended local schools. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker. She previously worked at Greylock Plastics, GE and Musgrove Knitting Factory. She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed cooking, crocheting and playing bingo. Her first husband, Clarence "Ken" Brown, is deceased. She leaves a son, Michael F. Rogers of Port Orange, Fla.; a daughter, Judith E. Guilds of Lanesboro; a brother, Vito J. Ronco Jr. of Pittsfield; a sister, Loretta J. Petell of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Elizabeth Carmella Rogers, who died Friday, Sept. 19, leaves her granddaughters, Kimberly J. and Laurin E. Guilds, and Trisha Rogers Shawaryn, and her great-grandchildren, Cheyanne, Brandon and Savanah Purry. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. The omission of flowers is requested. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
