Elizabeth G. Navin

Elizabeth G. Navin, 87, of 220 Bradley St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Lee on Nov. 2, 1915, daughter of John B. and Mabel G. Mougin Farina, she was a graduate of Lee High School. After raising her family, Mrs. Navin was employed by various drugstores in the area, including the former Haggard's in Lenox, former Liggett Rexall in Pittsfield and former McClelland's Pharmacy. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Adoration Society. She was a member of the VFW ladies' auxiliaries in Lee and Dalton, and was active in the Lee and Lenox senior citizens centers. She enjoyed playing bingo and cooking. Her husband, Joseph P. Navin, whom she married July 25, 1936, died May 17, 1972. She leaves a son, John P. Navin of Lee; two daughters, Mary Ellen Gagne of Waterford, Conn., and Alba M. Burns of Lee; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elizabeth G. Navin will be Friday at 10:15 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to St. Mary's Church or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee. She leaves her grandchildren, Shawn, Mark, Christine, Deborah, Anthony, John, Kathryn, Scott and James. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Marion Farina of Lee. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Henry, and her sister, Lillian Duby.
