Elizabeth R. Neal, 93, of 12 Alice Burke Way, Westfield, died Tuesday at Governor's House Nursing Center in Westfield. She and her husband, Ransley Neal, bought the Otis Village Inn in 1955 and operated it for several years. Born in Clairsville, Ohio, on May 10, 1910, daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Falat Robstock, she was a 1928 graduate of Commerce High School in Springfield. She resided in Springfield for many years and moved to Westfield 10 years ago. Mrs. Neal was a legal secretary and court reporter for Mallory & Gilbert law firm in Springfield for many years. She was active in many talent shows in Springfield. Her husband died in 1991. She leaves three sisters, Ann Niskanen of Wallingford, Conn., Margaret Dyer of Otis and Rosalian Mills of Dover, Del. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Elizabeth R. Neal, who died Sept. 23, 2003, will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, at 1 in Otis Center Cemetery, Route 23. There will be no calling hours; donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. FIRTION-ADAMS FUNERAL SERVICE is in charge of local arrangements. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
