Richard. J. Kinne

Richard J. Kinne, 81, of Berkshire Heights, Great Barrington, died Thursday at Fairview Hospital. He was born in Great Barrington, son of the late Roy and Sarah Broderick Kinne on March 20, 1920. He was a WWII veteran, having served with the U.S. Marines in teh Asiatic Pacific Theatre and Iao Jima, being discharged as a Tech Sergeant. He was an active memeber of Wyantenuck Contry Club. He was a PBX installer for the former telephone company now Verizon for 40 years, retiring in 1985. He worked on the new installations of the Rising Paper Mill, Mead Paper Mill, and Monument Mountain Regional High School. He was the widower of Mae Cuenin Kinne, who died September 20, 1998. He is survived by 6 nephews, Michael, Thomas, David, Peter, and Eugene Kinne, all of Great Barrington, and Dennis Kinne of Suffield, CT. 6 nieces, Patricia Rossi, Carolyn Ford, and Deborah Marcalous of CT, Roberta Raspuzzi, Donna Kinne, both of Great Barrington, and Nancy Holt of Merrimac, MA. He was predeceased by his 3 brothers, Arthur, Roy, and Robert. Funeral services will be Monday at 9 AM from the HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, to be followed at 10 Am with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Anthony Jutt, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Family will recieve family and friends Sunday from 3-6 PM. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Alzeimers Foundation C/O Hickey-Roy Funeral Home.
