Blanche Millette

Blanche L. Millette, 75, formerly of Dewey Way, died yesterday at Willowood Nursing Home, where she had resided since February 1997. Born in Holyoke on May 25, 1925, daughter of Joseph and Caroline Thibeau Parent, she attended schools there. She moved to Sheffield in the early 1990s. Mrs. Millette worked at the soda counter of the former Woolworth's in Chicopee. She also worked for her son-in-law, Robert Krol, at the family toy store, Puff & Stuff on Railroad Street. While in Chicopee, she and her husband, Richard R. Millette Sr., were members of Chickmates, a square dance club. They were married June 16, 1945. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Pamela Krol of Sheffield; two sons, Richard R. Millette Jr. of Sheffield and Michael S. Millette of Belchertown; a brother, Lionel Parent of Holyoke; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Another son, David Millette, died in 1999. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 29, at 11 at Our Lady of the Valley Church, by the Rev. Frederick Heberle, pastor. Burial will follow in Our Lady of the Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow, March 28, from 4 to 8 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, Great Barrington. Contributions in Mrs. Millette's memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
