Charlotte E. Vreeland

Charlotte E. Vreeland, 79, of Laurel St., formerly of Linden Street in Pittsfield, died Saturday at Laurel Lake Center. Born in Heath on Feb. 4, 1924, daughter of Wilmer T. and Charlotte A. Emery Vreeland, she moved to Lee as a child and was educated in local schools. She also attended the former Berkshire Business College in Pitts-field. She was employed by the late Dr. and Mrs. Byron Porter in Pittsfield, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Lee. She enjoyed animals, especially cats, knitting and crocheting, and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed reading was interested in family history. She leaves a brother, Kenneth R. Vreeland of Lee, and four sisters, Isabelle E. Vreeland of Springfield, Doris E. Jean of Chicopee, Marion H. Forfa of Housatonic and Kathleen G. Kopec of South Hadley. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charlotte E. Vreeland will be Wednesday at 10 at the KELLY FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Canon Noel A. Bailey, rector of St. George's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
