Hugh Herbert Williams

Hugh Herbert Williams, 67, of 14 Phillips Hill died yesterday at Sweetbrook Care Center, Williamstown, where he had been a resident for a short time. Born on April 19, 1936, in Adams, son of Hugh B. and Mary A. Martula Williams, he attended Adams schools. He was most recently a screen printer with the Old Stone Mill Corp., where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1977. Prior to that, he was a latherer with the Laborers International Union of North America, Local 473. He worked on some major construction projects in the county. His first employment was with Aladco. He attended local Baptist churches. He was a member of the Maple Grove Civic Club, and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. He leaves a brother, Bruce A. Williams of Rocky Mount, N.C., and two sisters, Barbara J. Spencer of North Adams and Marjorie A. Sartori of Harwinton, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Following cremation, an internment service for Hugh H. Williams will take place at the family plot in Bellevue Cemetery at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern Berkshire, 135 Curran Memorial Highway, North Adams, MA 01247, or in care of the McBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements.
