Thelma L. Wilker

Thelma L. Wilker, 80, formerly of Rose Manor, died yesterday at Craneville Place in Dalton, where she had been a resident for six years. Born in the town of Washington on Feb. 6, 1921, daughter of Chauncey L. and Cassie Stone Corey, she attended schools there. During World War II, Mrs. Wilker was employed by Crane & Co. in Dalton as a papermaker. She attended Morningside Baptist Church. She and her husband, Donald E. Wilker, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary Feb. 12. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Norman D. Wilker of Dalton and Gary C. Wilker of Pittsfield; two sisters, Phyllis Bradbury of Williamstown and Katherine Wood of Dalton; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Thelma Corey Wilker will be held Wednesday at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Linda Shaw, pastor of Morningside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be no calling hours. She was predeceased by two sisters, Alma Eastland and Ruth Beckwith, and three brothers, Larry Corey, Norman Corey and Frebon Corey. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to either Meals on Wheels or to Alzheimer's Research, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
