William J. 'Pete' Carpenter Jr., 66, formerly of 425 Park St., Housatonic, died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Arlington, MA on September 8, 1934, was a Korean War Veteran with the U.S. Army being discharged as a T/Sgt. He was a lab technician for many years at Mead Paper Company in Lee. He was a member of the Berkshire County Sheriff's Association and was a life member of the Adams Budz V.F.W. Post #8183 and was a member of their color guard participating at funerals and parades. Is survived by 2 sons, William J. III of Randolph, MA, Scott of Montana, 2 daughters, Laura Arsenault and Mary Beth LaFlamme both of Stowe, MA., 1 brother David of Lexington, MA., 2 sisters, Nancy Sitar and Judith Hallisey, 6 grandchildren. He was predeceased by another daughter, Patricia Ann. A Memorial Service will be at a later time. There are no calling hours. HICKEY-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA. is in charge of arrangements.
