John Leslie, 81, died Saturday at Timberlyn Heights, where he had resided for 15 years. Born on July 11, 1922, in Glasgow, Scotland, son of William K. and Christina Carroll Leslie, he came to the United States at the age of 10 and attended Pittsfield schools. He formerly resided at 138 California Ave. in Pittsfield. Mr. Leslie served in both the Army and Navy during World War II. He leaves nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for John Leslie will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 1, at 11:30 at Pittsfield Cemetery by the Rev. Mary Schreiber. Friends are asked to meet inside the gates at 11:15. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Morningside Baptist Church in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. He leaves two nephews, Gregory McBurney of Topsham, Maine, and Alan McBurney of Doyletown, Pa.; and two nieces, Dr. Christina Leslie of Denver and Barbara Briones of Sonoma, Calif., and a sister-in-law, Nellie Leslie of Pittsfield.
