Edna D. Beacco

Edna D. Beacco, 93, formerly of West Stockbridge Road, died Saturday at Laurel Lake Center in Lee, where she had resided for several years. Born in Oxford, England, on March 26, 1910, daughter of Albert and Aida Mary Sanders, she attended schools there and came to the United States in 1946, settling in Stockbridge. A homemaker, Mrs. Beacco attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was known as an accomplished seamstress, and for her arts, crafts and knitting. She recently sold the home she and her husband, Ernest Beacco, lived in for many years to the town for affordable housing. Her husband, whom she married in Oxford in 1945, died in July 1997. She leaves a daughter, Lynn Herzig of Pittsfield, and two grandsons. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Edna D. Beacco died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003. Burial will be private in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery. FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her two grandsons, Ernest and Timothy Herzig.
