Frances K. Roff

Frances K. "Frankie" Roff, 77, of Main Street died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in New York City on Aug. 5, 1923, daughter of Harold and Esther Lewis Gross, she was a 1941 graduate of George Washington High School in Manhattan and received her bachelor's de-gree in 1964 from Hunter College in New York. She had been a substitute teacher at the Becket School for two years. A member of Trinity Church in Lenox, Mrs. Roff was active in its music committee. She was an accomplished pianist and gave lessons many years ago. She also enjoyed cooking and traveling. Her first husband, Walter Kresel, whom she married Jan. 22, 1946, died July 25, 1991. She leaves her husband, Harry Roff, whom she married Feb. 1, 1997; two sons, Miles Kresel of Pittsfield and Gregory Kresel of Torrington, Conn., and four grandchildren. A son, Dirk Kresel, died in 1972. Mrs. Frances K. Roff is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Camille and Brandon Kresel. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 at Trinity Church with the Rev. Edward Wagner, rector, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Becket Cemetery. There are no calling hours. ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox is in charge.
